Atwell is a newer suburb about 21 km south of the Perth CBD in the City of Cockburn. Housing estates began in the early 1990s and grew with Atwell Waters and Harvest Lakes, and the suburb now has Atwell College, the Harvest Lakes shopping centre, the Kwinana Freeway along its western edge and Cockburn Central station just outside it.
