Network segmentation

Cameras, payment terminals and computers all on one network? We'll separate them safely.

  • Security cameras
  • Payment terminals sit on
  • Nobody knows what all
  • Old devices that no longer

In most small offices, everything shares one network: computers, phones, cameras, smart TVs and payment terminals. If one poorly secured device is compromised, it can reach everything else. We split your network into separate sections (VLANs) so each group of devices only reaches what it needs.

  • Same-day or next-day, where available
  • Onsite across Perth, or remote
  • No lock-in contract
  • Business and home IT
Common problems

One network for everything?

  • Security cameras, smart devices and computers share one network
  • Payment terminals sit on the same network as everything else
  • Nobody knows what all the connected devices are
  • Old devices that no longer get updates are still connected
  • A security review or insurer has asked about network separation

How we fix it

How we separate your network

  1. List what's connected

Every computer, phone, camera, printer and smart device on the network.

  2. Group the devices

Business computers, payment terminals, cameras, smart devices and guests.

  3. Check your equipment

Separation needs business-grade equipment. We'll recommend it if yours can't do it, and can supply it or you can buy it.

  4. Create the separate networks

Each group gets its own network, with rules for what it can reach.

  5. Test everything

Printers, cameras, payments and apps checked to confirm they still work.

  6. Hand over

A simple map of your networks and what's on each.

How it works

From brief to done, in three steps

  1. Tell us what needs to change

Book online or call. Tell us how many people and mailboxes are involved, and what you want to achieve.

  2. We confirm the plan and scope

Before work starts, we confirm what's included, the order of work and any interruption to email.

  3. We complete the work

Onsite or remotely, scheduled to keep disruption to your business low.

Questions

Network segmentation answered

What is a VLAN?+

A separate network running on the same equipment. Devices on one VLAN can't reach another unless you allow it.

Will this break anything?+

Some devices need a rule to keep working together, such as a printer. We test everything before we finish.

Do we need new equipment?+

Possibly. Separation needs business-grade routers and switches. We'll check yours first.

Is this suitable for larger sites?+

This service is for small offices. For larger or complex sites, we'll tell you plainly if it's outside what we offer.
